2 weeks

This week has been a resting at home week for Lewis and I. While my mom was here I was running errands and going places, but this week it's just been me and the boys at home during the day while Amelia is at school.

We did celebrate my birthday over the weekend, though we all pretty much forgot about it until mid-morning. I enjoyed playing with my new little 'present,' the best gift I could ask for on my birthday. I also remembered that this week marked a year that we lost our little one in the womb last year. What a blessing to now hold our little Lewis. I can understand what my mom said about her miscarriage in that it was sad, but we wouldn't have my sister. We wouldn't have our sweet Lewis if we hadn't lost that baby. Lewis is not a replacement, but a wonderful joy to help mend a broken heart.

So this week I didn't take a lot of pictures because we were mostly just at home. We did go to church on Sunday. Lewis did great, slept through all the worship songs and then I fed him in the nursing mother's room.

Amelia is still in love with her baby brother. She is helpful, holding him whenever I need it. She was so tickled when he was wearing this bib, it says, "I love my big sister." Grant was jealous of course. Now I need to find an 'I love my big brother' bib or shirt.

Lewis is sleeping like a newborn. At night he sleeps a 3 hour stretch, a 2 hour stretch, and another 2 hour stretch. So some nights I get 7 hours of sleep....but not all at one time. It's amazing the difference that can make. I'd rather have 5 hours all in a row than 7 hours all broken up, but it will come eventually.

During the day he sleeps on and off, but is having more awake periods. He did have a 2 week check up and he'd gained 13 oz in only 6 days! So he's past his birth weight now and doing great with eating. Sunday the 18th is his due date, so he's doing pretty good for an early baby.
